The Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) is an independent centre for the analysis and development of policies affecting the environment in 
Europe and beyond, undertaking research and consultancy work on the development, implementation and evaluation of environmental and environment-related 
policies in Europe.   
IEEP was first established in 1976. The Institute is based in London and Brussels and has partnerships with other organisations which have grown from the 
original IEEP network: Ecologic (Institute for International and European Environmental Policy, Berlin) and IEEP Madrid (Instituto para la Politica Ambiental 
Europea). It is a not-for-profit organisation and its main funders, sponsors and clients include The European Commission, The European Environment Agency, 
National Ministries, UK statutory agencies and non-governmental bodies.  
IEEP seeks to engage directly with relevant policy debates and works closely with the full range of policy actors from international agencies, and the EU 
institutions, to national government departments, NGOs and academics. The Institute seeks both to raise awareness of European environmental policy and
